Newrez is a command-line tool for Linux-based operating systems that allows you to change the resolution and DPI (dots per inch) of your display beyond what is natively supported by your system. Newrez works by creating a new display mode with a custom resolution and DPI, and then setting your display to use that mode. You can specify the resolution and DPI values that you want to use when you run the newrez command, and you can also save your settings so that they persist across reboots.
Newrez is a lightweight and easy-to-use tool that can be especially useful for users of lightweight desktop environments such as Openbox, Fluxbox, and LXDE. However, it is important to note that not all display drivers may support the custom display modes created by Newrez, and using unsupported modes could potentially damage your display.
